It Started with Rocks
Amazing Rocks started with a love for real rocks. When I was 10, I was fascinated by collecting them, and my family and I even tried making our own. We were a little successful, but the rocks eventually crumbled. Instead of giving up, we pivoted to playdough and that’s when the magic happened. The name “Amazing Rocks” stuck, and I love that it reminds me where this journey began.
Making dough became more than just fun, it turned out to be therapeutic. My friends and I leaned on it during the tough transition from elementary to middle school, especially after being apart during COVID. It gave us a creative way to relax, destress, and manage anxiety.
In 8th grade, I even turned this passion into my science project, “The Impact of Play Therapy on Middle School Students.” That research showed me how powerful play can be for mental health. On top of that, I’ve been honored to win three pitch contests (The Bennet Center Kid Expo, Vision Driven 757 Building Bosses, and the W&M Entrepreneurship Hub), which helped me grow Amazing Rocks.
Now at 14, I’m growing my business while balancing school, sports, and being a teen entrepreneur. My mission is simple: to help people relax, destress, and get creative through the power of play and scent. Whether it’s bubble gum-scented dough to make you smile, or lavender to help you wind down, each jar is handmade with care.
Amazing Rocks has been part of local markets, community events, and classrooms. It’s been awesome seeing teachers, therapists, parents, and teens discover how something as simple as dough can spark joy and calmness.

What is Amazing Rocks aromatherapy dough?
It’s a soft, squishy, smell-good stress-relief dough made for kids, teens, and adults who need a moment of calm. Think mindfulness + play + delicious scents = happy brain.
Who can use it?
Pretty much everyone! Ages 3+ can enjoy the sensory fun. Tweens and teens uses it for studying, thinking time, and creative boosts. Adults love it for stress relief, meditation, or fidgeting during Zoom calls.
What ingredients do you use?
Our dough is made with simple ingredients. However, it’s still not meant for snacking, chewing, or testing your tastebuds.
Our dough is handcrafted using:
- Food-grade flour
- Water
- Salt
- Cream of tartar
- Cornstarch
- Glycerin
- Vegetable oil
- Essential or fragrance oils (depending on the scent)
- Skin-safe colorants
(We keep it simple, clean, and gentle — just how mindful play should be.)
Are there allergens I should know about?
Our dough contains wheat. It’s not suitable for individuals with gluten allergies.
How to care for your dough?
How do I keep my dough soft and fresh?
- Store it tightly sealed in the jar.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight/heat (no beach trips, okay?).
- Wash hands before and after play. Clean hands = clean dough.
- Give it a little play every now and then to keep it activated.
What if my dough starts to dry out or if I see salt crystals?
No worries — this happens! Add a few drops of water or natural oil, knead it in, and should dough will bounce back.
How long does the dough last?
With proper care, your dough can last about 6 month. It depends on how often you use it and how well it’s stored.
Does the color fade?
Slightly over time with lots of play or if exposed to consistent sun or light. It’s totally normal and part of the natural ingredients doing their thing.

How long does shipping take?
Most orders ship within 3–5 business days. You’ll get tracking as soon as it’s on the way.
What if my order arrives damaged or melted?
Hit us up! We’ll replace it. Aromatherapy dough deserves to arrive ready to squish — no exceptions.
Do you accept returns?
For safety reasons, we can’t accept returns on used/opened products, but if something’s wrong, we always make it right.
